Description
Golden fleece brightens its chaparral habitat with light, apple green leaves and bright yellow flowers. Found in the coastal ranges down to about Ventura County and the lower foothills of the Sierra Nevada, golden fleece has become rare with the suppression of wildfires. The form is open and upright, perhaps vase shaped. Golden fleece is one of the taller of the Ericameria, reaching a height of up to eight feet though more often four to six feet. The golden fleece appreciates sun and well-draining soil. It makes a distinctive contribution to a summer-dry garden.
