Description

Woolly sunflower is found in many habitats from the Transverse Ranges north into Oregon, usually in sunny sites with well-draining, gritty soil. The many naturally occurring varieties all share soft, deeply dissected leaves of silvery gray and bright yellow flowers. The ‘Siskiyou’ selection grows as a low spreading mound of dense foliage with yellow flowers that are notably abundant. It may be grown in full sun, but some light shade is appreciated in hotter areas. Some summer water will help to keep the ‘Siskiyou’ woolly sunflower looking its best. It naturally goes dormant in mid-summer.
