Description

Bigelow’s sneezeweed is found naturally in moist areas of lower foothills of the mountain ranges surrounding the Central Valley and in a few spots around the Los Angeles Basin. Its range extends into Oregon and Arizona. It grows as an expanding patch of upright stems with alternating, lance-shaped leaves. Each stem is topped with a single bright yellow flower. The overall effect is quite striking in a mass planting. Bigelow’s sneezeweed blooms in summer and so provides nectar when many other flowers have faded. Plant in full sun or with a little shade in a moist setting.
