Description
This manzanita was introduced by Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden in Claremont, CA. ‘Greensphere’ grows as a dense, rounded shrub to about four feet. The oval, leathery leaves emerge with an attractive red tinge. The tidy spherical shape and small size make this a truly unique manzanita. It is dependably hardy in a variety of soils. Unfortunately, it is also a slow grower, even among manzanita. Some authorities list this as a selection of A. edmundsii, so some shade and occasional water is advisable in interior locations.
