Description
Shining netvien barberry is a variety of the widespread Oregon grape, which is well-loved among gardeners for its adaptability and beauty. The form is generally upright and dense. The compound leaves consist of up to nine dark green leaflets. Holly-like. The bright yellow flowers contrast nicely against this background. These develop into dark purple berries quite popular with wildlife. Oregon grape may be grown in a variety of settings, but some protection from the afternoon sun, and occasional water seem best. This variety is identified by wavy leaflet margins and smaller stature. It is a great choice for a small shrub in dry shade.
