Description

This is another garden hybrid with a longstanding reputation for excellent appearance and adaptability. ‘Frosty Blue’ was discovered at Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden in Claremont, CA, in the 1960s. It grows quite quickly in a rounded form to about 10 feet tall and 15 feet wide. The leaves are dark and glossy. ‘Frosty Blue’ blooms in mid-spring with large medium blue flowers. The bloom may last well into late spring. ‘Frosty Blue’ is adaptable to a variety of soil types and drainages. Full sun will optimize its growth rate and appearance. Blooms in early April in Santa Clara County.
