Description
Menzies’ wallflower is a rare coastal native found in just a few locations. It is upright in form with light green, lance-shaped leaves. The plant is topped with several tightly bunched bright yellow flowers in the spring and summer. Summer flowering may be encouraged with the removal of spent flowers and some additional water. As with other coastal natives, Menzies’ wallflower does best with some protection from afternoon sun in inland settings. This plant should be considered short-lived, but it will reseed in favorable conditions.
