Description
This lupine is one of the several species encountered along the immediate coast. It thrives in coastal strand along much of the California coast - the stabilized hills just inland from the beach. The foliage of the dune bush lupine is silvery light green. The flowers are lavender and white. As one would expect from its natural setting, the dune bush lupine requires excellent drainage and rather dry conditions. Inland plantings would benefit from some protection from the afternoon sun.
