Description
Salvia ‘Skylark’ is an uncommon salvia well suited for small gardens or a narrow bed such as a parking strip. It grows in an open, mounded pattern with large lance-shaped solid green leaves. The color and shape of the leaves suggest that Salvia mellifera was one of the parent plants. The flower color is light lavender/blue. Compared to Salvia ‘Dara’s Choice’ or ‘Jade Carpet’ the leaves are larger, the form is more open and the growth is more vigorous. Adequate drainage is recommended. In Santa Clara County, Salvia ‘skylark’ thrives in full sun, but will appreciate some shade when planted further inland.
